Simco International Impex, an energy services company, has won a EUR 1.5 million contract to carry out investment and maintenance works on low-voltage and high-voltage public lighting networks in Bucharest, networks leased to Enel, according to a report published on Nine o’Clock portal.

Enel Distribuţie Muntenia, the contracting authority, points out one third of the works can be subcontracted. The lowest price was the criterion, the article said.

Present on the Romanian market since 2005, Enel is currently the largest private investor in the energy domain, with operations in the electricity distribution and supply sector but also in the renewable energy production sector. Enel has over 3,100 employees in Romania and offers services to 2.7 million clients in three important regions: Muntenia South (including Bucharest), Banat and Dobruja (Dobrogea in Romanian), covering almost a third of the local distribution market.
