The Serbian Biogas Association has published a guide for investors interested in building a biogas plant in Serbia, whose main purpose is to encourage new investment in the sector and support those who have already decided to invest in biogas.

The guide, developed by the Serbian Biogas Association in cooperation with the rural development department of the Ministry of Agriculture, and with the support of the German Biogas Association, Fachverband Biogas, is based on the experiences of the Serbian Biogas Association members.

Tips will help investors who are planning or starting a biogas business in Serbia

Given that the biogas sector in Serbia is relatively new, the tips and guidelines will be of great help to investors who are considering an investment or just starting a biogas business in Serbia, according to a press release from the association.

In addition to practical advice regarding the quantities of particular raw materials needed for the operation of a plant, on how to choose the appropriate technology, and regarding the process of building and operating a plant, the guide also provides examples of existing power plants with different capacities.

The industry body has recently changed its name to the Serbian Biogas Association

In a separate press release, the association said it has recently added the word “Serbian” to its name. It added the change is of great importance for cooperation with foreign associations and partners and that it means that the Serbian Biogas Association represents the entire biogas sector in the country.

The association was founded in 2012. It currently has more than 50 members – almost all biogas plant operators and equipment manufacturers in Serbia, but also companies in the biogas sector from other countries, according to the press release.
