The Croatian Energy Market Operator (HROTE) has announced an auction for the award of premiums and guaranteed purchase prices for electricity from renewable sources.

The public call refers to solar power plants (50 MW), small hydropower plants (9 MW), as well as biogas (15 MW) and biomass (14 MW) power plants with a total capacity of 88 MW. This is a portion of the 2,265 MW in capacity defined by the decree adopted in May for the introduction of premiums for renewables.

The auction consists of a public call for expression of interest and the subsequent public tendering. The deadline for expressing interest is two months after which tendering will follow, HROTE said.

The maximum guaranteed purchase prices are in a range from EUR 0.084 per kWh to EUR 0.178.

The power plants are divided into seven groups, so there is a possibility for seven tendering procedures. In order for the tendering to be conducted, it is necessary for HROTE to receive at least three bids for each group.

HROTE’s announcement also defines the maximum reference values of the guaranteed purchase price for all groups of power plants. The lowest is for solar power plants, EUR 0.084 per kWh, and the highest for biomass, EUR 0.178.

The details on the participation in the auction for renewable energy incentives in Croatia can be found in this article.
