Kosovo’s* KEK gets new acting chief executive officer – Luigj Imeri

Luigj Imeri is the new acting chief executive officer of Kosovo’s* power utility KEK, local media reported.

The Interim Board of Directors of Kosovo’s* power utility KEK has appointed Imeri at an extraordinary meeting in a unanimous vote.

Before his appointment, Imeri was the executive director of TPP Kosovo B, a position he held from January 2012

At the same meeting, chief executive officer Njazi Thaci has been removed by the board. He was appointed two years ago.

Before his appointment, Imeri was the executive director of Thermal Power Plant Kosovo B, a position he held from January 2012.

The acting CEO was appointed by the Interim Board of Directors, which was assigned by the Kosovo* government

He has over 20 years of experience in KEK and has been appointed to various managerial positions for over 15 years.

The move comes after Kosovo’s* government dismissed the Board of Directors of KEK. The government has appointed Rrezarta Pllana as chairman of the Interim Board of Directors and director, with Merita Kasapolli, Arbnor Pula, and Bezad Halilaj as directors.

According to Imeri’s biography, he has graduated from the Polytechnic University in Tirana. He has also studied at the American University of Kosovo, where he received a master’s degree in management services.
