Romania’s Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration (MDRAP) has launched tendering for the procurement of 131 electric buses for seven cities, including Iasi, Sibiu, Sighetu Marmatiei, Slatina, Suceava, Tirgu Mures, and Pitesti.

In addition to this purchase, other Romanian cities have also launched tendering to buy 465 electric buses, Economica.net reported. In total, 21 cities will get 596 electric buses in the next couple of months.

The application deadline is July 29.

The ministry also plans to purchase EV charging stations – 131 slow charging stations and 39 fast charging stations. The overall investment is estimated at RON 363 million (EUR 77 million), with the largest portion of the buses, 40, to be delivered to the City of Pitesti.
