A team of students from the University of Belgrade School of Electrical Engineering (ETF) is inviting companies to help them raise funds to take part in the final of the International Future Energy Challenge (IFEC), the world’s largest student competition in the area of innovative and energy efficiency solutions. The final, which will pit the ETF students against nine other teams, will be held from July 18 to 22 in Beijing.

Balkan Green Energy News will publish the names of all companies that help the ETF students travel to China.

The University of Belgrade and the Cologne University of Applied Sciences are the only European universities to have passed the semifinal, held in San Antonio, the U.S. from March 4 to 8.

The H-Bridges team of 16 students from different ETF departments has been developing a device for the competition since May 2017. Additional information about the team and the competition is available at the project website.

This year’s competition is focused on the development of energy storage system devices.

“We are having trouble raising funds to cover travel expenses to take part in the competition final in Beijing. The ETF can establish cooperation through donations or sponsorship as part of official sponsorship packages. The team’s sponsorship packages have been formed in cooperation with the ETF. In this way, any form of cooperation with the team also represents cooperation with the ETF,” Aleksandar Milić, teaching assistant at the ETF Department of Power Converters and Drive Systems, told Balkan Green Energy News.

ETF teams have successfully competed in IFEC twice, winning first place in the final in Chicago in 2005 and third place in Beijing in 2016.
