Prime Minister of the Central Bosnia Canton (SBK) Tahir Lendo met with representatives of local firms Tomix Kneževo and TLG Travnik, as well as China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) to discuss the construction of wind farms at the locations of Galica and Vlašić.

CMEC and the two companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina started cooperation a year ago.

Representatives of the three companies visited the Central Bosnia Canton to evaluate and verify the collected data for the area of Galica and Vlašić, according to a statement by the Government of SBK.

Lendo said that the wind farm project is still in early stages, while the representatives of China’s CMEC arrived in Travnik to look into the investment climate and how stable SBK is for investment.

“I assured them that we are a very stable canton, that we have a government of continuity and that we can provide all the required services which are in the canton’s purview,” Lendo said.

CMEC signed a memorandum of understanding on the construction of the wind farm near Tomislavgrad in 2016.

Tomix Kneževo and TLG Travnik CEO Zoran Vujinović told portal eKapija that the construction of two wind farms with a capacity of 50 MW each is planned.

“The total value of the investment is EUR 130-140 million. A preliminary design has been produced, and the drafting of the main project will start as soon as we select wind turbines. China’s largest turbine producer Goldwind is also interested in financing the project. Tomix and TLG will invest know-how and develop projects, while Chinese partners will provide money,” he noted.
