Resalta, one of the leading energy services companies in South-Eastern Europe (SEE) has signed a contract for two projects with Iskratel, Slovenia-based company, aimed at optimizing energy consumption.
According to Resalta’s web statement, the company carried out a comprehensive energy audit in ICT company Iskratel with the latter decided to undertake some of the suggested measures in order to improve its energy efficiency.
Based on the one contract, Resalta (former GGE) will provide an energy efficient solution for the Iskratel data center. Since it requires permanent cooling system, the old, unreliable and energy inefficient close-control unit will be replaced with a new system that will maximize energy efficiency, the statement reads.
The new unit will use free-cooling at temperatures below 18 degrees Celsius with direct air intake through filters for the most part of the year. This solution will significantly lowered the energy consumption.
During cold months, hot air produced by the servers will be used to heat the warehouse, so there will be no waste heat.
With the second project – installation of a new chiller, Resalta wants to improve work conditions for employees. New air handling unit with recuperation and fan coils is expected to improve ventilation and comfort cooling.
Thanks to these measures, Iskratel will benefit from 637 MWh of annual electricity savings and a reliable cooling system. Resalta also says that environmental impact will be reduced thanks to the switch from cooling media R22 to an eco-friendly solution.
The new systems are expected to be operational by the end of June this year.
Iskratel is one of the leading European ICT provider for the digital transformation of the telecommunications, transport, public safety and energy industries. It is present in more than 50 countries and its headquarters are located in Kranj, Slovenia.
Earlier this year, GGE decided to undergo a rebranding to better reflect its growth and ambitions, as well as its position in the SEE energy market and became Resalta.
