The Association for Packaging and Environmental Protection (SEPEN) has been admitted to the membership of the European Organization for Packaging and the Environment (EUROPEN).

EUROPEN brings together industries from the packaging supply chain in Europe and deals with packaging and environmental issues without favoring any specific packing material or packaging waste management system.
“The decision to receive the Association for Packaging and Environmental Protection  (SEPEN) into full membership was made at the meeting of the Council of the members of the European Organization for Packaging and the Environment (EUROPEN) in Brussels,” the SEPEN said in a statement.

Members of SEPEN are Coca-Cola HBC Serbia, Ball Packaging Europe, Terra Production, Knjaz Miloš, Japan Tobacco International, PEPSICO Serbia and the Serbian Brewery Association.

SEPEN has now become part of an organization of more than 40 largest European companies, which represent almost all segments of the packaging value chain, as well as eight national industrial associations dealing with packaging and the environment.

“EUROPEN is committed to improving the production and utilization system based on an approach that encompasses all phases of the packaging life-cycle, ensuring the free flow of packaging and packaged products throughout Europe, and promoting a harmonized European and national legislation in the field of packaging and packaging waste management,” SEPEN noted.
