Croatian public utility Hrvatska elektroprivreda (HEP) and HEP Opskrba (HEP Supply) have announced a public call for the allocation of funds for ZelEn’s product fee for 2017. The call is open until April 5th.
ZelEn is the green energy produced solely from renewable sources and for HEP Opskrba’s customers. The company was the first to offer such unique project on the electricity market in Croatia.
ZelEn’s price is 1,5 HRK/MWh (EUR 0.20). Over 100 customers bought ZelEn in 2017, which enabled a new public call for assignment of funds for ZelEn product.
The total value of the public procurement is HRK 1.5 million (EUR 200,000).
According to the HEP website, ZelEn is a unique product and is intended for customers who are showing a socially responsible attitude, caring about environmental preservation and additionally encouraging production of energy from renewable sources.
For now, ZelEn is offered only to entrepreneurial customers.
All the earning from the sale of ZelEn are invested into a fund for renewables’ and energy efficiency projects for disadvantaged public sector service users.
So far, six projects have been implemented in two cycles of a total value of HRK 1.4 million (EUR 190.000). These six projects helped reduce energy consumption by about 200.000 KWh and avoid emissions of more than 500.000 tons of CO2 per year.
