The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has invited expressions of interest from consultants to support the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) for Tranche 2 of Belgrade Water project.

The overall objective is to facilitate implementation of the project by rendering assistance, including design, all aspects of procurement and disbursement, and environmental and social (E&S) requirements. Consultant is required to provide independent, impartial technical, cost, strategic, management, financial and legal advice, and as such will not be permitted to have a commercial interest in any other contracts or agreements related to the project.

Closing date for expressions of interest is December 11, at 23:59 local time.

The Assignment is expected to begin in late 2017 and has an estimated overall duration of 24 months.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has approved a loan of EUR 14.5 million to the Public Utility Company Belgrade Waterwork and Sewerage for the Belgrade Water Project. The Project is divided into two tranches: Tranche 1, with a value or EUR 8.5 million is currently being used to finance improvements in the water supply system, and the Tranche 2, with a value of EUR 6 million is intended for refurbishment of the water treatment plan Jezero which is located in the same Makiš water treatment complex.

The EBRD announced earlier this year that tenders for specific work and procurement for those projects would be called in the last quarter of this year.
