Greek PPC Renewables looking for partners to build 12 wind farms on islands

The Greek company PPC Renewables said it is looking for partners to build 12 wind farms at a number of sites across the country. The company published three tenders to build the wind farms, operate them and provide maintenance for a period of 14 years.

According to PPC Renewables’ plans, the 12 wind farms will be on several of the Greek islands in the Aegean sea and will have a total installed power of 31.8 MW.

PPC Renewables is planning to build 11 small wind farms with a total capacity of 24.3 MW on the islands of Marmari, Evia (5.4 MW), Ikaria (0.9 MW), Karpathos (0.9 MW), Lesvos (2.7 MW), Limnos (0.9 MW), Samos (1.8 MW), Chios (2.7 MW and 0.9 MW), Psarra (1.8 MW), Mykonos (1.8 MW) and Tinos (4.5 MW).

The company has also invited offers for the planning, supply, transport, installation and operation of a wind farm with a total capacity of 7.5 MW in Sitia on the island of Crete.

The tender for the construction of a wind farm on Crete is estimated to be worth EUR 12.15 million and the deadline to submit proposals for that project is October 9, 2017.

The second PPC Renewables’ tender for a wind farm on the island of Tinos is estimated to be worth EUR 7.5 million and the deadline for proposals is October 10, 2017.

The third tender for the construction of 10 wind farms with a total power of 19.8 MW is estimated to be worth EURO 28 million with October 5, 2017 as the deadline to submit proposals for the project.

PPC Renewables, a subsidiary of the Greek Public Power Corporation (PPC), says on its web site that it wants to become a leader in Greece in the field of renewable energy. At present it has 20 wind farms, 17 small hydropower plants and 28 photovoltaic plants with a total installed power of 153 MW.
