Sofia Electrical Transport Company plans to acquire electric buses and install charging infrastructure in the Bulgarian capital.

To this end, the company which operates tram and trolley transport in Sofia plans to procure 30 fully electric buses with fast charging technology and 12 charging stations.

The project is worth EUR 17.64 million, and the SETC intends to use proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to finance it.

The buses and charging stations will be procured in two tranches of 15 buses and 6 charging stations, and tender is expected to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2017.

General procurement notices was published on August 10 by the EBRD. The closing date is August 10, 2018.
