The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), in association with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Committee on Sustainable Energy, and in partnership with Danfoss Corporation, is seeking students and young professionals to participate this summer in a six week internship program which provides practical experience in sustainable energy systems.

The Building, Campuses and Communities Immersive Internship is international internship program which will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A., from July 10 to August 17, 2017.

Students in advanced years of undergraduate studies or graduate programs related to buildings and energy are encouraged to apply.  Applicants should have strong academic background in Architectural, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical and Energy Engineering. They should be proficient in English and at least 21 years old.

The program consists of practical component, research and course component. It will provide an opportunity to students to explore unique challenges, high-potential technologies and practices in sustainable buildings, campus and communities, as well as existing policies and standards.

Through this program, students from around the world will be offered the chance to apply the UNECE Principles for Sustainable Buildings and Low Carbon Communities through research, and to make recommendations on how they should evolve.

The enrollment costs are estimated at USD 4,500 and are based on six weeks of resident instruction, room and board. The costs don’t include travel expenses.

Sponsorship and financial assistance is available to highly qualified applicants.

Application must be submitted before May 31, 2017 using online application portal.
