Regulatory Commission for Energy in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FERK) granted the power generation licence to solar micro plant Raštani, owned by Ana Kudić from Mostar.

The license is for the photovoltaic (PV) power plant Raštani, mounted on a rooftop of a family home, with capacity of 10,00 kW and projected annual production of 10,19 MWh, local media reported.

The Plant owner Ana Kudić says the critical moment for the conception of this project was the adoption of the Renewable Energy Sources Decree in 2012.

„My husband and I have been interested in renewable energy sources for a long time. Adoption of that decree motivated us to enter the solar plant project. We installed it a year ago on top of our family home in Raštani. It is a micro solar power plant, a smaller unit, which is already generating power. We deliver it into the power grid and this licence is, practically, one of the steps to put it within the regulatory framework.”

„It takes a lot of persistence to bring one such a project to the end. I wish I could see that changed in the future, and I ask of the officials to cut the amount of paperwork currently required for the license application. The very fact that we got an idea in 2012 and it is already 2017 speaks for itself“, says Kudić. She strongly emphasised the importance of incentive quotas for solar power plants.

„The government should raise quotas, because they are already fulfilled by the year 2020. It is a wasted opportunity, since Mostar and the entire Herzegovina have perfect natural conditions for such things“, she said.

The FERK session also adopted a draft power generation licence from renewables to the project „Slavinovići I”, submitted by Selver Memić from Tuzla.
