Bulgarian national electricity company invites tenders for rehabilitation of three HPPs

Bulgarian National Electricity Company (NEK) is inviting sealed tenders from contractors for the rehabilitation of three hydro power plants (HPP). The facilities to be rehabilitated are Belmeken pumped-storage HPP, and Sestrimo and Momina Klisura HPPs.

Subject of the tender are all activities and components of the engineering service such as design, manufacture, delivery, installation, designer supervision, setting, testing and commissioning of the facilities, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said in a statement.

The HPP’s rehabilitation will be partially financed with the proceeds of Kozloduy International Decommissioning Support Fund (KIDSF), administered by the EBRD towards the rehabilitation of HPP systems project in Bulgaria. The funds will be also provided by NEK.

This is a part of a project for rehabilitation of Belmeken – Sestrimo – Chaira hydro power complex, Vacha-1 HPP 110 kV switchyard and other HPP system of integrated control.

The tenders must be delivered before 14.00 on January 5, 2018.
