Bids sought for three small hydropower plants

The Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mining of Republika Srpska has launched tenders for concessions to build and operate three small hydropower plants.

One invitation refers to two small hydropower plants (HPP) on the Bjelava river that would have a total installed capacity of 2.523 MW and an annual output of 10.19 GWh of electricity. The estimated value of the investment in the Mala Bjelava and Bjelava small HPPs is about BAM 8.6 million (around EUR 4.4 million).

The other invitation is for a 4.68 MW small HPP on the Vrhovinska Rijeka river. The Hotovlje small HPP would generate 14 GWh of electricity annually. The estimated value of the investment is BAM 4.8 million (some EUR 2.45 million).

The concessions can be awarded for periods of up to 50 years.

Bids are due by August 9.
