Axpo will meet the entire electricity demand of the production sites of Klimaoprema in Croatia. It is the first long-term corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) in the country for the renewable energy producer and trader.

Two years after Croatia’s first long-term virtual PPA, Axpo said it signed its first long-term corporate PPA in the country. Under the ten-year deal, domestic manufacturer of cleanroom systems, ventilation and air conditioning equipment Klimaoprema is set to cover all its electricity needs.

The renewable energy producer and trader, based in Switzerland, revealed that it would supply 17.5 GWh of green electricity to the customer’s production sites in Nova Gradiška and Samobor. The volume corresponds to the annual consumption of 700 households in Croatia.

Axpo Croatia Senior Originator Filip Božić said it is a major milestone for his company’s activities in the country. “In line with our business growth strategy, it demonstrates Axpo’s ability to offer tailor-made energy solutions while advancing the energy transition,” he added.

Klimaoprema affiliate KOER has facilitated the new corporate PPA

Croatian aggregator KOER contributed to reaching the agreement. The technology company is a spinoff of Klimaoprema and also a member of the Amelicor Group, headquartered in Zagreb.

By leveraging its deep understanding of energy markets, regulatory and commercial aspects, KOER facilitated the process, ensuring that the agreement meets the long-term needs of both sides, the announcement reads.

“Navigating the complexities of long-term energy agreements requires not only technical expertise but also a strategic approach to risk mitigation and market dynamics. KOER is proud to help bring this cPPA to fruition, which will secure Klimaoprema’s long-term energy needs. We are pleased to have Axpo as our partner; their flexibility to adapt to and support our business processes is something we deeply value.” KOER’s Chief Executive Officer Ivo Krezić stated.

In 2023, Axpo signed Croatia’s first long-term wind virtual power PPA, covering almost 1.8 TWh per year.

Hi Igor, I don’t understand if this is a new PPA or it’s the one that is supposed to be signed 2 years ago : https://balkangreenenergynews.com/axpo-signs-ppa-deal-in-croatia-with-taaleri-energia-encro/ and it’s now signed? Could you confirm that?
