Companies from Finland presented their products and solutions for renewable energy production from biomass and waste management at the industry seminar held in the Finnish ambassador’s residence in Belgrade.

Finland is a country well known for its advanced use of biomass for renewable energy, generated mostly from forestry industry, but also from agriculture. Due to a very strong industry clusters, research and infrastructure, Finland holds second place at the Global Cleantech Innovation Index Report 2014 , as well as at EU Eco Innovation Index for 2013.

Finland is a world leader in forest management and logistics, with 100 million cubic meters of new forests every year – almost a half of what is been used in the country.

Serbian stakeholders had an opportunity to meet Molok waste management company, and biomass business companies Ariterm, KPA UNICON, Valmet and Miksei cluster of 11 companies that provide  full production chain, from the forests exploitation to the biomass-based power plants systems.

This initial fact finding trip in Serbia was organized by Embassy of Finland in Belgrade and Finpro, organization for international promotion of the Finnish SMEs.
