The 18th European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) will take place from June 11 to 13 in a hybrid format. Participant registration is ongoing, and the number of seats for personal attendance in Brussels is limited.

EUSEW is the largest annual event dedicated to renewable sources and efficient energy use in Europe. It is organized by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Agency (CINEA) in cooperation with the European Union’s Directorate-General for Energy.

EUSEW 2024 will encompass a series of events, starting with the Policy Conference in Brussels, scheduled for June 11 to 13.

The conference will take place in Brussels, at the European Commission’s Charlemagne building and the nearby Martin’s hotel. All sessions will be streamed through a dedicated online event platform.

Given the limited physical capacity, organizers urge everyone interested to register as soon as possible to attend the event in Brussels in person.

The theme if this year’s EUSEW is ‘Net-zero energy solutions for a competitive Europe’

The theme of this year’s EUSEW Policy Conference is ‘Net-zero energy solutions for a competitive Europe’. Topics to be addressed in sessions include boosting net-zero technologies to increase Europe’s competitiveness and climate transition, the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) in the energy sector, EU carbon pricing, biomethane as a community-based net-zero solution, and Europe’s geothermal potential.

Some of the additional topics are international cooperation, sustainable local heat planning for cities, empowering cities and communities, citizen-led renovation, and young professionals’ visibility in the energy sector.

At the conference, over three hundred prominent speakers will present

More than 300 distinguished speakers will participate in 60 sessions. Among them are energy experts, researchers, and civil society representatives. Speakers include European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson, Belgian Minister for Energy Tinne Van der Straeten, Claire Roumet from Energy Cities, and the EU’s Director-General for Energy (DG ENER) Ditte Juul Jørgensen.

Following the conference opening, the European Sustainable Energy Awards for 2024 will be presented for individual and collective efforts that have demonstrated outstanding results in the field of energy efficiency and green energy.

EUSEW will also provide an opportunity for informal networking during the Energy Fair. This year, young people can once again connect during the European Youth Energy Day.
