The Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton decided to launch the procedure for the selection of a concessionaire for the construction of small hydropower plant (SHPP) Kamenolom, with total capacity of 95 kW, which would be built as part of the main drinking water pipeline from intake Kasapovići.

The City of Zenica earlier approved the project and public interest was determined for the construction of mini hydropower plant on the site Kamenolom-Crkvice, at the request of public enterprise ViK Zenica d.o.o., said the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry.

Cantonal authorities obliged the ministry to conduct a public bidding procedure for the facility in the territory of the fourth-largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina, located northwest of capital Sarajevo. The main activity of ViK Zenica is the production and distribution of safe drinking water, drainage and purification of wastewater and rainfall, as well as electricity generation.
