The deadline for applications and nominations for European Sustainable Energy Awards (EUSEW Awards 2023) is February 9. The winners in three categories – Innovation, Local Energy Action and Woman in Energy –  will be announced during the European Sustainable Energy Week, which will be held from June 20 to 22.

This year’s tagline of the biggest event dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use in Europe is “Accelerating the clean energy transition – towards lower bills and greater skills.” EUSEW 2023 is organized by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) in cooperation with the European Union’s Directorate-General for Energy (DG ENER).

It will be held in a hybrid format, so participants and speakers are able to participate onsite in Brussels and online. The European Sustainable Energy Week will bring together public authorities, private companies, nongovernmental organizations, EU project partners, researchers and consumers to promote green initiatives for Europe’s energy transition.

EUSEW Awards are for projects that were finished since end of 2021 or are ongoing

European Sustainable Energy Awards EUSEW 2023 will recognize exceptional individuals and projects for their innovations and efforts in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.

Eligible activities, projects and actions are ongoing or they were concluded since the end of 2021. Ones that are still in the planning stage or have not yet delivered results can’t participate. Projects that have previously made it to EUSEW Awards finals are also excluded.

Online vote to decide winners

Potential contestants with an exceptional impact on the energy transition can apply directly or be nominated in one of three categories: Innovation, Local Energy Action and Woman in Energy. Last year there were four categories.

Applications will be scored on three criteria (concept, implementation and impact) with a maximum score of ten points each.

An expert jury will select three finalists per category. The winners will be decided via an online public vote and announced at the EUSEW Awards 2023 ceremony taking place in Brussels on June 20.
