EPBiH to partner Hungarian MVM in green power projects

A memorandum of cooperation will be signed by September between state-owned Elektroprivreda Bosne i Hercegovine d. d. (Electric Utility of Bosnia and Herzegovina – EPBiH) and MVM Group, headquartered in Hungary. The state-owned company aims to launch joint projects with new partners, according to a statement by the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry (FMERI) of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of the country’s two entities.

The potential segments for cooperation are hydropower, wind and solar energy, the press release noted. MVM Group is the largest power producer, distributor and trader in Hungary. It was represented at the meeting in Sarajevo by chief executive of MVM OVIT Norbert Korom, MVM Partner’s deputy head Kornél Czinege, the group’s head of strategy András Tóth, and sales and trade deputy manager at MVM Gas Trade – Gábor Orbán.

EPBiH was represented by all its executives and Nedžad Branković, the FBiH’s former prime minister. The company has presented investment plans for new power generation projects last month at the Energa international energy fair in Tuzla.
