HEP Group, Croatian government-owned power utility, said it agreed with Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) for the state media system to continue to be a user of electricity supply obtained exclusively from renewable sources. The contract was signed by head of HRT Siniša Kovačić and HEP managing director Perica Jukić.

HRT’s electricity from renewable sources is provided by HEP Opskrba, which offers green products, the company said. The solution is designed exclusively to supply HEP customers who are committed to social responsibility, respect for the environment and use of energy from renewable sources, according to the statement.

“We are very pleased because this cooperation is based on the product ZelEn (GreEn), which has advantage that was recognized by HRT and more than 50 socially responsible companies in Croatia. By choosing ZelEn products all our customers become our partners in environmental protection and energy efficiency,” Jukić said.

“As a public service, we want to give the best example and set high standards in all aspects, including the responsibility in business and environmental protection, and the choice of green energy is a logical continuation of cooperation at the direction that we want to go further,” Kovačić said.

The story about social responsibility and environmental protection does not stop at the production and consumption of green electricity, HEP said. The fee for the use of green energy is paid to a fund intended for energy efficiency projects and renewable energy sources for socially vulnerable categories of users, the company stated on its website.
