International law firm CMS has advised a syndicate of banks, including UniCredit’s Zagrebačka Banka, the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR), and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), on a EUR 126 million package to build two onshore wind farms in Croatia.

Finland-based Taaleri Energia, part of the Helsinki Stock Exchange listed Taaleri Group, and Croatian renewable energy company Encro are building Croatia’s first utility-scale renewable energy project developed outside of a state subsidy scheme. The two onshore wind farms will be located in Croatia’s coastal region of Dalmatia, near the city of Zadar and will have a combined capacity of 111 MW.

The CMS Croatia team was led by Jelena Nushol Fijacko and Marija Musec for all Croatian law aspects of the transaction and they were supported by Relja Rajkovic (Finance). The CMS Poland team was led by Rafal Zakrzewski for all English law matters and Marcin Bejm, with support from Orest Matviychuk, Przemysław Karolak, Krzysztof Mrozik, Marcin Krzemien, Michał Horelik and Jakub Śmiałek (Finance); and Angelika Szufel and Piotr Prawda (Energy).
