Seven companies have purchased the tender documentation for concessions for a solar park and a wind power plant in the municipality of Bileća, while two of them submitted bids. The two public calls were launched in June. The entire project is estimated at EUR 122.7 million.

Seven companies have purchased tender documentation for the Planik solar and wind power project, worth EUR 122.7 million. Three companies are from China, there is one each from Turkey, Austria, and Israel, while one is registered in Bileća, but it is owned by businessmen from Montenegro and Israel, Capital.ba learned.

In June, the Ministry of Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska opened two public calls for 50-year concessions for the Planik wind and solar power plant project. The Republic of Srpska is one of the two entities making up Bosnia and Herzegovina, the other one being the Federation of BiH. Bileća is in the country’s far south.

Two companies submitted bids

Arlon Investment from Israel and B&B sunce i vjetar from Bileća submitted bids. The latter was the one that started the initiative to launch a public call. Its owners are Ljubiša Bošković and Nedeljko Babić, according to the public register of companies in BiH.

The news outlet reported the two entrepreneurs were joined by Big Shopping Centers from Tel Aviv as co-owner. The firm has shopping malls in Israel, Serbia, and the United States and it also invests in large wind and solar power projects.

Ranked bids go to the energy ministry, and then the entity government will make the final decision on the concessionaire.

Planik solar and wind capacities

The construction of solar power plant Planik, with an installed capacity of 80 MW and an estimated annual production of 106 GWh, is planned on 85.4 hectares on the southern slopes of Veliki Planik and Mali Planik.

The investment is estimated at EUR 70 million. The one-off concession fee is EUR 350,000, and the concessionaire is obliged to pay 0.28 eurocents for each kilowatt-hour of electricity produced.

According to a public call, the Planik wind farm will cover 6,000 square meters. The installed power of the wind farm is planned at 39.6 MW, translating to annual production of 93.2 GWh.

The investment has an estimated value of EUR 52 million. The one-off concession fee is EUR 260,000, and the concessionaire will pay 0.28 eurocents per kilowatt hour, the same amount as for the solar park.
