Renewable energy company Etmax has been granted a concession to build a 60 MW solar power plant near Nevesinje, in the southern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Government of the Republic of Srpska has given a concession for a 60 MW solar power plant next to the main road Nevesinje-Gacko, said the mayor of Nevesinje Milenko Avdalović.

The mayor stressed the construction of the solar power plant as very important for Nevesinje.

Thanks to the energy sector and investments, Nevesinje has a great chance to become a developed municipality, said Avdalović, Radio Nevesinje reported.

Avdalović underlined the municipality was chosen for the project because Herzegovina has excellent solar energy potential.

The investment in the photovoltaic power plant is estimated at EUR 53.3 million

The Government of the Republic Srpska instructed the Ministry of Energy and Mining in mid-September to conduct the procedure for granting a concession for the Nevesinje solar power plant, following a request from Etmax.

Etmax designs, develops, and constructs photovoltaic power plants.

The investment in the Nevesinje power plant is estimated at EUR 53.3 million. It is one of four advanced utility-scale solar power projects in Herzegovina, the southern part of BiH.
