The first national info day was held at the Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar as part of project Bioenergy for Business (B4B). The endeavour is financed by European Union’s research and innovation programme Horizon 2020. Institute Hrvoje Požar is one of partners in B4B for Croatia.
The project aims at supporting and promoting partial substitution of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas used for heating with available bioenergy sources (for instance byproducts of wood-based industry, forest biomass, pellets, straw and other agricultural biomass) in the project partners’ countries and beyond.
Main goals of the first national info day were to show advantages of using biomass for heating, to show necessity of interdisciplinary approach in projecting and developing system for biomass utilization, to establish conditions for woody biomass quality, to show examples of good practice, to introduce participants to the financing possibilities for biomass projects and to create an opportunity for meeting and exchanging experiences between experts and investors.
