In the first quarter of 2016, Nordex SE was selected for three projects with a total of more than 40 MW in Turkey. These projects, for 18 turbines altogether, are located in different regions of the country and cover wind classes IEC 1 to 3.

The largest of the projects is the Karacabey wind farm in the province of Bursa in the country’s northwest, where the German-based company will supply 12 N100/2500 turbines for to Arti Enerji AŞ, install them on a turnkey basis, and hand them over to the customer ready for operation. The N100/2500 is designed for IEC-2 sites so ideally suits the location of Karacabey, Nordex said.

The European manufacturer will be supplying four N117/2400s for the Aliaga extension. This project is situated in a region with light winds in Izmir, in the province of Aliaga. The four Nordex turbines will add 9.6 MW to the wind farm.

Nordex said last year was strong, with a significant volume of projects achieving closing in the last quarter. The company has 1.3 GW installed capacity in Turkey, with a market share of around 25%, the statement adds.
