ProCredit Bank has installed a 40 kW solar photovoltaic system on the roof of its main building in Belgrade, in a move that will ensure additional energy independence and lower its impact on pollution of the environment.

The solar power plant will produce 41,6 MWh annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 31.5 tonnes per year, ProCredit said in a press release.

The photovoltaic facility on the roof of the local headquarters is its second PV unit. A small solar installation with a capacity of 5 kW, used for charging electric cars, has been operating on the plateau for two years now.

The bank’s fleet has more than 70% electric and hybrid cars

The share of electric and hybrid cars in ProCredit Bank’s fleet is above 70%, while the capacity of its solar panels is 50% higher than the annual needs of these vehicles.

ProCredit calls drivers of EV vehicles to use chargers in front of the bank for free

“Almost half of the green energy produced by our solar panels will be available for free charging to drivers of electric or hybrid cars,”  said Ivan Smiljković, member of the Executive Board of ProCredit Bank.

In cooperation with its business partners, importers and distributors of solar systems, the bank is preparing an offer for the procurement of equipment and the installation of small-size solar power plants, intended for companies, agricultural producers, as well as citizens.
