Miodrag Čanović will remain Chairman of the Board of Directors of Montenegrin distribution system operator (DSO) Crnogorski elektrodistributivni sistem (CEDIS). Čanović has been chairman of CEDIS’ Board since 2016.

At its first session, the new CEDIS Board of Directors decided to appoint Miodrag Čanović as Chairman of the Board of Directors, CEDIS said on its website.

In addition to Čanović, the new members of the Board of Directors are Zoran Đukanović, Dragan Laketić, Ivan Mitrović, and Emil Đokić.

Čanović was a member of the EPCG Board of Directors since June 2008, and was appointed for the first time as Chairman of the Board of Directors of CEDIS in June 2016

According to CEDIS’ press release, Čanović graduated from the University of Montenegro School of Electrical Engineering in 1997, when he started his career in Nikšić-based steelworks Željezara. He was an assistant energy minister in the ministry responsible for energy sector from 2004 to 2018. Čanović was in charge of the implementation of several significant projects in the sector.

He was a member of the Board of Directors of Montenegrin power utility Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) since June 2008 and was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of CEDIS in June 2016. CEDIS was unbundled from EPCG in June 2016, and it has since been operating as an independent legal entity with a license to perform activities as a DSO.

At the end of 2018, CEDIS signed a EUR 22.4 million Framework Agreement for a project to revitalize the medium and low voltage distribution network.

The revitalization project is part of the investment plan for the period from 2019 to 2021.
