Porsche Romania and its partners plan to invest in charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, including the construction of 77 electric vehicle chargers over the period 2019-2021, local media reported.
According to 0-100.ro, the investment in 77 EV chargers could reach EUR 3-5 million.
EV chargers will have a power output from 75 kW to 150 kW, Porsche Romania CEO Brent Valmar said.
The power output range from 75 kW to 150 kW signals power of electric cars that will be launched over the next years by Volkswagen Group.
The company seems to target charging all EVs in an hour, the portal reported.
By the end of 2019, there will be a minimum of 24 e-chargers with 75 kW power output under the Volkswagen brand. At least 13 charging points will be installed in the Audi brand network until the end of 2019, with power output from 50 kW to 150 kW.
There will be 29 e-chargers in operation with 75 kW power output under the Skoda brand in 2020, while in 2021 the SEAT brand network will have at least 11 75 kW stations.

In November 2018, Enel X Romania announced EUR 15-20 million investment between 2019 and 2023 in the installation of around 2,500 EV charging stations.
According to Enel X, 2.5% of cars on Romania’s roads are powered by electric motors. The Romanian government is offering incentives of EUR 10,000 to encourage drivers to choose an e-vehicle.
In June last year, Minister of Energy Anton Anton said that Romania plans to install 200,000 EV charging stations in the next four years, as part of efforts to boost its share of renewables for fuels used in road transport.
This is a very good initiative from Porsche. I have noted Energy Minister set a target to have 200000 EV Charging stations. Such huge infrastructure can be managed only with a sophisticated IT application.
