The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina has adopted recommendations for the energy sector reform, proposed by MPs Momčilo Novaković, Hanka Vajzović, Saša Magazinović, Predrag Kožul, Mirsad Isaković, Lazar Prodanović and Jasmin Emrić.

Once entity governments consent, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH is to propose an energy strategy for BiH to the Council of Ministers, according to the text of recommendations.

The second recommendation is for energy efficiency to be the key element of energy transition and to determine the tasks of regulatory bodies in the implementation of this policy, while the third is to speed up the energy sector reform by adopting the missing laws and regulations needed to meet the requirements of the Energy Community and EU membership negotiations.

The fourth recommendation is to implement instructions for improving the licensing process for the construction of new energy facilities.

“The House of Representatives authorizes the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH to coordinate and monitor the implementation of these recommendations in cooperation with relevant ministries and to report to the Parliament of BiH on the state of implementation every six months,” the text of the recommendations reads.
