Kosovo’s* transmission system operator (TSO) KOSTT has signed agreements on connecting the 10 MW Lepenci hydropower plant (HPP) and the 34.5 MW Koznica wind farm with representatives of the two facilities’ operators.

The agreements were signed in compliance with the objectives of the National Strategy on Energy 2017-2026 regarding the security of power supply and the construction of renewable energy facilities, KOSTT said in a statement.

HPP Lepenci is currently under construction in the Municipality of Hani Elezit and is expected to come online by 2020.

Following a review of the application, KOSTT signed the agreement on connecting the Koznica wind farm to the power grid. The wind farm will be built in the Municipality of Artana, while the start of generation is planned for 2022, KOSTT said.

The connection agreements were signed on behalf of KOSTT by CEO Ilir Shala (pictured, third from right).
