12 finalists across 4 categories are in the competition for the EU Sustainable Energy Awards. The Awards are a major feature of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), organized annually by the European Commission (Directorate General for Energy and EASME).

A high-level jury decides the winner in each of the categories – Consumers, Public Sector, Businesses, Young Energy Leaders, but a public online vote will determine the winner of the 2018 Citizens’ Award.

All five winners will be announced at the EU Sustainable Energy Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, 5 June in the European Commission’s Charlemagne building.

Check out the shortlisted projects and cast your vote. Finalists are
Wisegrid (Spain),
Infinity Building (Belgium),
Rescoop Plus (Belgium),
Karise Permatopia – Ecovillage (Denmark),
Bio.Energy.Parc.Saerbeck – Renewable Community (Germany),
PEAKAPP (Austria),
300 Schools Energy Retrofit Program – Paris (France),
Peace_Alps – Pooling Energy Action Plans and Enhancing Their Implementation in the Alps (Italy)
10 Years of North-West Croatia Regional Energy Agency (Croatia),
Czech Sustainable Houses (Czech Republic),
Green your brewery with ekoenergy! (Finland),
L’ecoviligesa Vanessa (Italy).

Finalists will present their projects on the EUSEW website, and meet key policymakers and stakeholders at the EUSEW Policy Conference. An Award from the expert jury or the public Citizens’ Award gives a prestigious seal of approval to the winning projects while increasing their visibility among Conference attendees, the press, and the general public.
