Towns and cities invited to apply for European Mobility Week Award 2017

Towns and cities which have participated in raising awareness of sustainable mobility in Europe this week, are invited to apply for the European Mobility Week Award.

The award aims to promote best practice and success in organizing the campaign, and to raise awareness of the need for local and individual action in the field of sustainable urban mobility.

Award is presented to the local authority that is judged to have done the most to raise awareness of sustainable mobility during the European Mobility Week which was held this year from September 16 to September 22.

For the first time, the European Mobility Week Award will be presented in two categories: one for municipalities with a population of over 50,000 and one for municipalities with a population under 50,000.

Towns and cities from total of 39 countries can apply for the award, including towns and cities in the EU candidate countries and potential EU candidate countries.

2,270 towns and cities from across Europe registered to organize events to mark mobility week 2017 which is being held for the 16th time under the slogans “Clean, Shared and Intelligent Mobility” and “Sharing Gets You Further”.

Winners will be chosen by an independent panel of transport experts, and they will receive a three-minute video in both English and their native language highlighting their achievements. In addition, the winning city and finalists are promoted via the campaign’s channels.

All documents must be sent before October 23, 2017.
