Serbia has launched a procedure for the election of new president and members of the Energy Agency Council by calling candidates to apply for the positions.
On July 26, the Ministry of Energy and Mining of Serbia published at its website the call for selection of candidates for the president and four members of the Energy Agency’s Council.
The president and members of the Council are elected by the Parliament of Serbia among prominent experts in the energy sector and other sectors of significance for the activities of the Agency.
According to the call, the Council president is to be elected to seven-years mandate, two member to six-years mandate while the term of office of other two members is five years.
The candidates have to be Serbian citizens and to have university degree in technical studies, or studies in law or economics, and at least 10 years of experience in energy sector.
Current president of the Energy Agency Council Ljubo Maćić was elected by the Parliament in July 2011, together with four Council members.
The Energy Agency of Serbia is in charge of price regulation, licensing of energy entities to conduct energy activities, deciding appeals, energy market supervision and international agreement implementation.
