The German wind turbine maker Senvion has contracted the first delivery of five of its turbines for a wind farm in Croatia. The turbines will be sold to the Croatian Vjetroelektrana Orjak company for the Greda wind farm in the south of that country.

Senvion said in a statement that the contract called for five wind turbines which will be installed outside the town of Blato na Cetini in the first half of 2018. The German maker will supply its MM92 turbines which operate at a height of 80 meters.

The company said it also signed an agreement for the maintenance of the 2 MW wind turbines over a period of 15 years.

Managing Director at Senvion South-East Carlo Schiapparelli said the company had arrived in the Balkans with the right products and experience from other southern European countries with comparable conditions and is prepared to meet the needs of customers in the region.

Senvion signed its first contract to supply wind turbines in Serbia in June 2017 for the Alibunar wind farm which will have an installed power of 42 MW .

Senvion makes turbines ranging from 2 MW to 6.15 MW with rotor diameters of 82 metres to 152 metres and offers project specific solutions.
