Former State Secretary at the Romanian Ministry of Energy Bogdan Nicolae Badea has been appointed a director of state-owned power producer Hidroelectrica.

Badea was appointed manager of the Management Board by the Supervisory Board in the beginning of July.

Two new members of the executive board were also appointed: Marian Bratu, former manager of the Maintenance Department, and Mihai-Val Zdru, a former director of the Transelectrica Access Network Division, Romanian media reported.

Badea previously worked as manager of Hidroelectrica’s Project Management Department of the Investments Division. He has also served as a state secretary at the ministries of energy and economy.

Badea was a member of the supervisory board of OMV Petrom, and of administration boards of Rompetrol Rafinare and Enel Energie Muntenia.

He also headed a consultancy company specialized in renewable energy projects.

Ovidiu Agliceru, former general director of Hidroelectrica, will be head of the electricity production directorate.

Hidroelectrica is owned by 80 percent by the state, while the rest is owned by Fondul Proprietatea S.A.
