Spanish Ingeteam opens subsidiary in Bulgaria to provide services to renewables market

Spanish company Ingeteam, specialized in power technologies and operation and maintenance services, has opened a subsidiary in Bulgaria to support the renewables sector, the company announced, adding that its personnel performs maintenance work at the country’s largest photovoltaic plant.

In Bulgaria, Ingeteam is present in the wind power market, and is responsible for the maintenance of three wind farms totaling 90 MW while, in the PV market, the company carries out the maintenance of a 60 MW PV plant, the largest one in Bulgaria.

The company said that the renewables market in Bulgaria is mature and stable, thereby facilitating the entry into the country of operation and maintenance service companies such as Ingeteam.

The company has also opened subsidiary in Honduras, thuwincreasing its global presence to a total of 22 countries. The subsidiary is also geared to the renewable sector. In Honduras, local personnel already works at a number of sites.

The company first entered the market in Honduras with projects for the renewables sector, primarily for the PV sector, to become the leading provider of operation and maintenance services in Latin America, where it has maintenance contracts for 2.5 GW. Ingeteam is present in this country through the provision of maintenance services at PV plants, totaling 82 MW and accounting for 20 % of the country’s total installed power.

The company announced that it has set a new annual record in maintained power, which now exceeds 10 GW.
