Electricity Transmission System Operator of Macedonia MEPSO has issued an invitation for expression of interest for a consultant to assess possible impact of electric vehicles implementation in Macedonia for the period of next 20 years.

The main objective of the assignment is to prepare a study that is to investigate effects of plug-in electric vehicles on the electricity grid in the Republic of Macedonia. More specifically, it will suggest approaches for: offering backup for renewable power sources including wind and solar power, improving grid efficiency, stability, reliability of the transmission grid, and reducing utility operating costs and even potentially generation of revenue.

The deadline to submit expression of interest is June 5 this year and the contract is expected to start on June 15 this year and last about 12 months.

MEPSO was granted from the EBRD for Smart Grid Improvement project. This consultant selection will be conducted by e-procurement using the EBRD Client E-Procurement Portal (ECEPP). Interested firms should register on ECEPP  and express an interest in this assignment.

The contract is open to firms from any country.  Following this Invitation for Expression of Interest, a shortlist of qualified firms will be created and MEPSO will select one firm to be invited to negotiate a contract.
