A prototype of the first locally developed electric scooter in Bosnia and Herzegovina, E-scooter by Core, has been unveiled in Sarajevo. The prototype is entirely produced from parts and technologies developed in BiH.

E-scooter by Core is an innovation by the company’s engineers, who have more than a decade of experience working with premium global brands in the automotive industry. The BiH-based firm specializes in car development and design, including both interior and exterior, as well as software and IT.

Core’s intention is to build a factory for mass production in BiH with the support of their strategic partner. E-scooter by Core combines urban lifestyle with top-notch technology, design, and eco-friendly solutions, the firm said.

”Only innovation makes progress possible. We have invested our knowledge to obtain a smart solution for the urban environment. We wanted to create a modern, urban, trendy, and attractive design – an embodiment of contemporary lifestyle and a unique product on the market in terms of technological characteristics!”, said Jens Ceribašić, co-owner and managing director of Core.

The scooter’s target range is up to 100 km

According to Core, the electric scooter boasts a wealth of innovative technological solutions, such as unlocking and starting with a code, connectivity to the driver’s mobile phone, tablet, or the internet, and touch screen technology.

Depending on the settings, the scooter can reach a maximum speed of 110 km/h, and its target range is up to 100 km. It can be charged at home or work via a normal AC 110V-220V socket, as well as at public e-chargers.

Ceribašić said that the first scooters could hit the streets a year after the factory opens, hopefully starting in Sarajevo, and then expanding to the whole world, he added.

E-scooters are the future of overpopulated urban areas

According to Nihad Velagić, general manager of Core, in addition to an innovative product, the firm has also prepared a comprehensive business plan to ensure that all segments contribute to the success once the product is placed on the market.

“We can say without any doubt that e-scooters are an excellent business opportunity, because they are the future of overpopulated urban areas. It is our vision to create such a future in BiH and in the car industry and to put the country on the map of electric vehicle producers,” Velagić noted.

Core was established 13 years ago and has offices in Sarajevo, Munich, and Dubai.

The company’s engineers are behind dozens of solutions for premium brands such as Rolls Royce, Maserati, Porsche, BMW, MINI, Bentley, Mercedes-Benz.
