The Albanian Power Exchange (ALPEX) has launched the third tender for a supplier for the electronic trading platform for a joint power exchange with Kosovo*.

ALPEX has announced the tender for a trading platform for its power exchange, local media reported, adding the project is estimated at EUR 1.8 million.

The platform has to support day-ahead and intraday markets, while the duration of the project is four years from the signing of the contract with the supplier.

ALPEX declared its previous tender for the trading platform unsuccessful in August. The process of establishing the market started in March 2020.

Albania, Kosovo*, Montenegro, and North Macedonia, contracting parties of the Energy Community, are in the process of establishing power exchanges. They are all looking for suppliers for their trading platforms.

The tender in North Macedonia was closed on July 26, while Montenegrin power exchange operator BELEN set May 26 as the deadline for bids. Since then there was no information on the two projects.
