ADEX Group launched a common intraday continuous market environment, marking a milestone in the integration of the Slovenian, Hungarian and Serbian electricity markets. Slovenian BSP is in charge of the operational activities.
The common ADEX intraday continuous market is in operation, following the required testing and migration. ADEX Group said it is a step within its efforts to strengthen cooperation and integration across the Central and South-Eastern European electricity markets. The new environment was created by standardizing rules, trading management and interfaces.
BSP took over the operational activities of the intraday continuous markets, becoming the single operational point of contact for participants in the Slovenian, Hungarian and Serbian electricity markets instead of separate administrative entities.
ADEX Group comprises the BSP Energy Exchange (BSP) in Ljubljana, HUPX in Budapest and SEEPEX in Serbia. The company was established by transmission system operators ELES (Slovenia), Elektromreža Srbije or EMS (Serbia), MAVIR (Hungary), and EPEX Spot. ADEX is also known as the Alpine-Adriatic Danube Power Exchange.
The new move increases liquidity and price transparency
The new move increases liquidity and price transparency, which may benefit grid stability and the process of market coupling with the European Union. The new operational setup brings the intraday continuous markets operated within ADEX into a common M7 trading environment and introduces a more harmonized processes for market participants, the update reads. They continued to trade on the individual markets but in a common technical and operational environment.
The integration enables streamlined operational procedures, harmonized trade limit management and a more consistent experience, ADEX Group added.
BSP’s role is to support efficient day-to-day market operations while providing market participants with a clear and unified operational point of contact.
“By bringing intraday continuous market operations into a common environment and centralising operational activities at BSP, we are establishing a more harmonised and efficient framework for the three markets,” said ADEX Group’s Chairman of the Management Board Anže Predovnik.
