The Supervisory Board of the joint stock company Elektroprivreda Srbije has appointed Dušan Živković as the general manager.

As an electrical engineer, Dušan Živković has more than 30 years of experience in investment, financing, engineering, energy system projecting, as well as management models and their implementation in the power utility Elektroprivreda Srbije, EPS said.

Živković was appointed as the general manager in line with laws, considering that he was appointed as acting general manager on June 15, 2023.

EPS: The beginning of the establishment of executive management

Of note, Živković was appointed as acting general manager by the Supervisory Board which was presented a week earlier. He replaced Miroslav Tomašević, who had been the acting director of EPS since March 2022.

EPS has now announced that the appointment of the general manager is the beginning of the establishment of the executive management which, in close cooperation with the Supervisory Board, will manage the company operationally and, among other things, implement the recently adopted Transformation Plan.

Živković at BEF 2024: Decentralization of energy sector is already a reality

At the recently held Belgrade Energy Forum – BEF 2024, Dušan Živković said that Elektroprivreda Srbije should seek to position itself as a modern company with a different portfolio. The company should make the most of the available resources – sun, wind, water – so as to ensure energy security, he added.

According to Živković, Kostolac wind farm, Petka solar power plant. 1 GW of self-balancing solar power plants and the Bistrica pumped storage hydropower plant, represent projects for EPS’  future.

He sees the circular economy, AI, and decarbonization as forces that are going to shape the future of the energy sector.

Decentralization in energy production is a reality we’re already facing, Živković stressed.
