On the occasion of Global Wind Day which is marked on June 15, a fine arts competition was organized for schoolchildren in Apatin in northwestern Serbia by company Elicio, owner of enterprises PD Electrawinds and Electrawinds Mali in Serbia. ’Wind Park in My Municipality’ was the theme.
More than 80 pupils sent works, and the nine which were declared the best won valuable rewards, the company said. „Big interest shown by children to imagine and draw a wind park in the municipality where they live is for us an indicator that projects that we plan to build are well accepted in the community where we work, as well as that citizens of Alibunar can’t wait for first wind turbines,“ the company’s manager for Serbia Christophe Bols stated at the ceremony where awards were handed.
The event was organized in elementary school Prvi maj in Vladimirovac, with the support by principal Petar Glanda and the teachers. Except for the children and pupils, the exhibition was attended by principals of elementary schools from Alibunar, Ilandža, Banatski Karlovac, Lokve and Janošik, which decided to participate in the competition. For last year’s Global Wind Day, Elicio donated a garbage truck worth EUR 30,000 to the municipality.
The company plans to construct wind parks Alibunar of 42 MW and Malibunar of 8 MW for which, it confirmed, has all permits secured, in addition to the status of a privileged producer of electrical energy. The adoption of directives regulating the sector of renewable energy sources, the company added, means conditions are met to continue the implementation of projects and the construction.
