The 14th Regional Summer School on Low Emission Development Planning will be organized in Fojnica, Bosnia and Herzegovina from July 1 to 7 by the Regional Education and Information Centre (REIC), in collaboration with the GIZ Open Regional Fund for South-East Europe – Energy Efficiency and the GIZ bilateral projects “Promotion of Renewable Energy in Bosnia and Herzegovina” and “Promotion of Energy Efficiency in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

The summer school is thematically dedicated to low emission development with a special focus on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, as well as urban planning in transport.

Students will be guided through a “think globally, act locally” way of thinking. This approach will enable them to understand key global concepts concerning low emission development and types of tools that should be developed on the local level to complement this process. The school will cover core elements of low emission development in four different sectors.

The organizer will provide a full fellowship for 20 participants. This includes coverage of costs for full board accommodation and a study visit. Only transport costs need to be covered by participants themselves.

The application deadline is 31 May, and the number of participants is limited.

For more information, please read the first announcement or contact REIC by e-mail.

English is the official language of the school.

The 2017 training program, held for the 13th year in a row, hosted 24 students and young professionals from nine South-East European and EU countries, with the aim of building a strong force of future experts who will lead the way in the energy sector, bringing innovative solutions to existing problems and opening new possibilities for sustainable development in South-East Europe.
