Participants of the Regional Summer School on Sustainable Development and Low Emission Planning, which will be held in Fojnica from 20 to 26 August, 2017 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, have officially been selected. Full fellowships will be awarded to the selected applicants.
Students and young professionals from nine countries of South-East Europe (Bosnia and Herzegovina – BiH, FYR Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo, Serbia) and the EU (Italy, Croatia and Slovenia) will take part in this year’s summer program. Female participants were especially encouraged to apply and this has resonated with them.
121 applications have been received and final 24 participants have been selected. Out of the total number of selected applicants, 16 of them are women.
Emina Durmo, GIZ ORF-EE Advisor for Gender Equality stated on the occasion “Capturing the interest of female participants for energy programs, which are traditionally male dominated, is an important part of GIZ ORF-EE efforts. The fact that so many female students and young professionals have applied for this regional summer school is a great success and a direct impact of our gender equality oriented project efforts.”

The Summer School is organized by the Regional Education and Information Centre (REIC) in collaboration with the GIZ Open Regional Fund for South-East Europe – Energy Efficiency, and the GIZ bilateral project Promotion of Renewable Energy Sources in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and GIZ project Promotion of Energy Efficiency in BiH.
