The Serbian Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection published an invitation for stimulation funds for the re-use of waste and the production of re-usable plastic bags. Applications for the funds can be submitted to the ministry by waste facility operators and plastic bag makers up to January 31, 2018.

The ministry published the details of the invitation in Serbian and application form on its web site

The stimulation funds will be allocated for the re-use of waste and the use of waste as secondary raw materials or for the production of energy and for the manufacture of reusable plastic bags. Operators of facilities for the re-use and treatment of waste who have permits under the law on waste management and manufacturers of re-usable plastic bags of a thickness greater than 20 micrometers (µm) can apply for the funds.

Plastic bag makers have to submit proof that their products are biodegradable.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection will allocate the stimulation funds for the re-use, recycling or the production of energy from waste tires and rubber, waste oil (not including waste cooking oil), waste starters, vehicle batteries, industrial batteries and accumulators, transportable batteries or starters and for the production of re-usable plastic bags with or without biodegradable components and for the re-use, recycling and use of waste electrical and electronic equipment as secondary raw materials.

The ministry will allocate between RSD 3,606  per ton and RSD 18,390  per ton for the re-use of waste rubber and tires, between RSD 5 and 10 per kilogram for the re-use of waste oil and between RSD 14.5 per kilogram and RSD 145.5 per kilogram for the re-use of all types of waste starters and batteries.

The stimulation funds will not be allocated for the treatment of electronic and electrical waste from products that do not require payment of waste flow management costs, the ministry said.
