The City of Zenica in Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a call for applications and bids for the right to install an energy storage facility in the Zenica 1 business zone. The site is construction land owned by the local authority.

Legal entities allowed to gain ownership rights over real estate in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina can apply for bidding for the right to build an energy storage facility with accompanying equipment in the Zenica 1 business zone. The site of 8,492 square meters, classified as construction land, is owned by the City of Zenica, the advertisement reads.

The aim is to optimize the energy needs of electricity consumers and balance and stabilize the power grid during the transition to green energy, said the local commission responsible for the competitive process. According to the propositions, the contract will last for 25 years at most. There is a possibility to extend the arrangement by a maximum of ten years.

Of note, the Federation of BiH is one of the two entities making up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Republic of Srpska.
